Membership

Registration Info

Please submit your interest application by Friday, March 2, 2018!

  

 In order to be eligible for REGULAR membership, you must:

  • be a major in Biology or Biology Secondary Education, or you can be a graduate student in biology. 

  • have a minimum GPA of 3.0 in the major

  • have completed 6 credits or more of Biology (BIOL) courses

  • be at least a Sophomore

Anyone can be an   ASSOCIATE member including Freshmen who have a college GPA, those who don't meet the Regular membership requirements, and non-Biology majors.

 

REGULAR membership is a lifetime membership in the national Tri-Beta organization.  If you have NOT completed 6 credits of Biology (BIOL) courses or if you do not have the required minimum GPA of 3.0, you are still eligible for ASSOCIATE membership, which ends when you graduate. Even though associate members are not considered regular members, they still can participate in Tri-Beta related activities.  Associate members do not have to be a biology major.

Important: The cost of the Tau Phi Chapter REGULAR membership is a one time fee of $60 for national dues and a chapter induction fee.  The cost of Associate Membership is a one time fee of $50 for national dues and a chapter induction fee, but once an associate member is eligible for regular membership a one time fee of $10 must be paid for national dues in order to convert the membership from associate to regular.  There is also a yearly chapter due fee that will be agreed upon by the executive board of the Tau Phi Chapter of Tri-Beta.

IF YOU ARE SENIOR AND INTERESTED IN JOINING, IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT YOU JOIN AS A REGULAR MEMBER, NOT AN ASSOCIATE MEMBER.

IF YOU ARE ELIGIBLE FOR MEMBERSHIP, PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO APPLY AND TAKE PART OF THIS ESTEEMED AND DISTINGUISHED ORGANIZATION.
