History Of Beta Beta Beta
Beta Beta Beta was founded in 1922 at Oklahoma City University by Dr. Frank G. Brooks and a group of his students. The honor society for biology students begin to spread quickly and became a national honor society by the year of 1925. By the year of 1930, Beta Beta Beta started its own society journal called BIOS. BIOS society journal began the publication of student research, and articles of biologists and current news of the organization. As the society continued to grow, regional conventions were created to present student research and to award outstanding individual and chapter accomplishments.
Currently North Carolina A&T is Tau Phi chapter of Tri-Beta, which began in 1996. We, The Tau Phi chapter of Tri-Beta, are dedicated to fulfilling that purpose and so much more. We are in the business of encouraging students in our department to enact change in not only the biological sciences, but also in the community and at our own institution. We have effectively done this in the past years through mentoring programs in the department, events in hosted by our organization, and numerous community service activities.
